Climate champions for adaptationThis project, which is co-funded by the European Union, is being implemented by a consortium of five organisations.
The overall objective of the project is “to develop a united and cohesive national civil society strategy to address climate change impacts on the land tenure and farming systems of small-scale farmers in South Africa”. This project aims to better support small-scale farmers in South Africa to become more resilient to the impacts of climate change. This includes both fieldwork support in rural communities in KwaZulu Natal and the Northern Cape to explore appropriate local responses to climate change, and supporting civil society engagement on land, agriculture and climate policy required to better facilitate such responses at a national level.
